Strange power locks issue

This morning I went to open my car, and the power locks weren't working. I have remote entry, and the locks wouldn't open, so I had to open the driver's door manually. I tried the switch on the driver's door, and could hear a relay clicking, but the lock actuators weren't working. So I locked it up, I was going to diagnose it later. I came back a couple of hours later, and now everything works again. I'm wondering if this is a soldering issue in the switch, and since it warmed up by noon, then the heat expansion made it work again? Is this just the beginning of problems with the switch? Anyone have a similar problem, or know a common issue with the locks?

Thanks

Just take the door lock timer out and resolder the bad joints...

Or replace it with a good used one...

Thanks for the quick reply. I'd guessed it would be some solder joints, just wasn't sure where to start. Looks like over time, we have to resolder most electronic components on our maxes: a/c, clock, DRL unit etc.

It could be worse...

also...if u do swap master switch be sure it is from the same year or at the very least compare the 2 as all 3rd gen switches are not created equal

Thanks for the advice MyGreenMax94, turned out it was the power lock timer. Let's hope this is the last module for a while.
