How much actual HP should i hope to gain by installing one of these pulleys? Is it worth the price?

you dont really "gain" any horsepower. it just frees up existing horsepower that is robbed by the accessories. it will give you about 10-12 hp. i know its worth the price for the ve, at only about $115, but the vg is almost $200. i'd say its worth it, the engine revs so much faster.

Where can I get the UD Pulley for the VE for $115? How hard is installation? I want it!
Thanks!

its not a really hard install. it just takes a while to pull the wheel, the belts, and get the new pulley on. go to www.aspracing.com

consequences?

i know the pullies make accessories turn slower, freeing up power but which accessories turn slower and what're the consequences of that? as soon as i get some power wire i'm going to install my sub and amp and depending on how much i work, i might get a second amp.
i just dont want to fry my altinator

I've had the ASP UDP on mine for a few months now and the only thing I've noticed is the a/c doesn't seem to get quite as cold. Maybe just my imagination though. No problems with charging from the alternator, but I don't have any extra amps or subs in my car.
No noticeable difference in steering firmness either.

Yea, it was. It revs up very quickly now. Used to feel like it was pulling a big rock behind it. Now the tach shoots up to 4K in no time. Feels more "free" when you stomp on it. The thing weighs about 1/3 of what the stock pulley weighed. Couldn't believe how heavy the stock one was. Yikes!

I have the same dilemma....I have subs and an amp but I am very hesitant on installing the UDP. Right now when I press the window button my rev's go down. Even when I turn on the lights the rev's at idle dip.
I don't know what to do...I want the "extra" HP.

somethig has to be wrong then. how many watts are you running on your system? i noticed in your sig that it says 600 watts. i was running more than that in my system (before it got stolen), with no problems at all. but if your having problems now, you'd probably complicate them with the upd. you could always go lower on the wattage on your system. you can still have a great system without the really high wattage, then you could get the upd. i know of other cars with upd's running 1000+ watt sytems on their cars with no problems, the max shouldnt theoretically be any different. just my opinion.

i'm not looking for ridiculous wattage to my system..90x2 from a RF 250a2 to my front comps and some sort of 500 watt D class monoblock deal for the 15"(lookng at the MTX500D), deck power for the rears. hell, depending on what i get for comps(the JBL 6.5" 3 ways are lookin' pretty good for $89+S&H), i might have to turn the gains way the hell down from the RF.
are lighter pulleys availible? not necesserily smaller but lighter?
thanks again

Do you think that I might need a new alternator? I seem to have a lot of electrical problems due to lack of power. I don't know what the problem could be..maybe a new battery could be in order. Should I get a Cap? A new Alt?

Just a reminder, Rockford Fosgate rate their amps very conservative. The RF 250a2 will push way more than 90x2.This is a good thing.

good, then i'll have some headroom :-)
i was just looking at my old subs thinking i should probably bandpass them to complement the 15", but i need the money for a new amp for the 15". 2 JL 12"s and an MA 15" would be pretty sick if i put it together right.
i have to ask my friend today if hes buying my JLs so i wont actually install them and spend too much money.

RF amps are great but they are expensive. With your subs, I would sell them all and buy RF. My best friend owns a RF dealership in town, that is why I am giving the shameless RF plug. BTW, did I mention ROCKFORD FOSGATE?

i dont like fosgate(even though i havent had any trouble with my amp) because its so expensive and i have no hookups as far as that goes, thats why i wont buy JL now(i'm a huge JL fan but got no hook ups and even less money) i take what i can get (MA audio, pioneer premier, infinity, cerwin vega, eclipse, panasonic). if money weren't an issue i would buy fosgate, but it is.
who wants to give me a pair of 20ft RCAs?
