Chrome trim -> Black trim on 92SE

When I bought my car 92VE5, it was not in great shape, and I made some concessions...it was possibly in an accident. While washing it the other week, I noticed some of the black window molding was actually chrome trim painted! Not sure if they replaced it with a door from a GXE or the molding itself. I'm an SE posing as a GXE posing as an SE?

Has anyone removed and replaced GXE with used SE molding? How hard?

Thanks in advance. I know this has been discussed, but Google did not reveal much.

that trim wasn't as shiny as the other doors, thought it might have been replaced.
