lol, "spekdik"?? i was just saying this thread resembles those of another member who wanted more than anything to have a jdm maxima, which can't really be done with the 3rd gen considering the us/jap versions of this style car are very different. for whatever reasons he seemed to annoy some people and got banned under different names at multiple sites.

anyway if it's badged a cefiro, then you do have a japanese maxima. if it looks like a 3rd gen and is RWD or AWD, you have an a31 cefiro. which the 3rd gen maxima body style was largely based on. if that's the case, you're lucky, for the fact it's RWD although imo, the maxima looks better and has much nicer interior. if it says j30 on it and looks like a jellybean, it's an infinity j30. or you could just have a 3rd gen maxima and someone badged it with j30 because that's its chassis code. open a cardomain account and you can upload as many pics as you want.

there was a pacific version of our J30 chassis maxima.
the A31 is a cefiro RWD. absolutely no relation to our FWD J30 maxima. which is no relation to the RWD J30 infiniti
the maxima/cefiro/I30 became one chassis at the a32 chassis (95-99)

it's news to me that the j30 max was sold in japan.. i never stated the a31 or the j30 was a maxima. well i guess i said the a31 was a jap maxima but that's what it basically is. it's a 4 door intended for the same target market and looks almost identical. if he thinks he has a jap maxima, considering this is posted in the 3rd gen section, it's possible he could have an a31 since despite what you say, they have a lot in common because it's obvious the 3rd gen body style was highly influenced by the a31 cefiro. and it's no coincidence the max and cefiro became one. but why reiterate what i said about the chassis and drivetrain? did you not read past the first sentence in my post? anyway, he also says its badged "j30" so of course it's possible that's what he has, i wasn't saying the j30 was a maxima. i was just giving possibilities to what car it may be since we obviously have no pics to go off of.
