Modding help

Alright, cuz i cant search (major PITA) im going to ask a few questions here about some modding info.
first off, what is the maximum size tire/rim i can safely put on my car? ive seen up to 18, but i have 17x7.5 right now and the back tires feel like theyre rubbing (or extremely close to) the back suspension.
secondly, i know sometime down the road i want to get a stillen kit, but the chassis part (sorry for sounding noob) right under the rocker panels is getting slightly rusty and bubbly.. will i have to fix this before i can get the kit?
thirdly lol, my exhaust has a leak. now youre probably going to say its my decision, but should i pay $589 for a new exhaust right from nissan? or should i buy a greddy kit?

thanks guys

Wow, that's low for Nissan, well the Nissan here is high anyway. I paid $400 for a complete new system to be put on only to find out the exhaust manifold gasket was screwed. When I bought the car the whole exhaust system fell off going over a railroad track.

If I had to do it over I would have just spent the money for a catback. They're fairly priced on summitracing.com

Thats just my 2 cents worth.

the size of the wheel isnt your only concern. Yeah your wheel is rubbing now but its because its not the ideal offset.

You can go with an 18x8 with a 35mm offset for a perfect fit. For that matter you can fit larger wheels as well if you get the right offset. The only problem is anything above 18s and the tires will be really thin so 18s are as big as I would go.

for exhaust I would just get a warpspeed cat back for a lot cheaper or have a shop custom make one.

i forgot to take into consideration offset. i would prefer to have 17's, would the 35mm be okay still?

how reliable is warpspeed stuff ?? is it get what you pay for? or quite good for the price?

might as well upgrade if you're going to replace the entire exhaust system anyway. get rid of the rust. i just bought a canadian max a week ago and luckilly it looks like it escaped canada without any major rust problems. there's a few little spots,. putting the skirts on your car is only going to make the rust problem worse, but yeah you should nip any rust in the bud. i'm so glad they don't salt our roads around here.

okay check it out take a look through michael's 92 max that he sold and take a glans at that set-up it was a nice set-up looks like a bimmer suspension set-up tucked very nicely that was and still is the Ve5spd thats talked about today. And personally i run the same and exact set-up intrax w/tokico on 18's on 225/45 toyo proxes. no sign of rubbing here and also with stillen kit.

as far a modding it depends on how FAT you pockets are just like any car it can be tuned with right state of mind frame.

Just gonna cost ya.

exhaust leak, determine where it is (studs/somewhere else)

I highly recommend the WSP Y-Pipe, you'll enjoy it. For a catback, just do what's cheapest. The greddy sounds nice, but there isn't much of a performance increase in any of the catbacks/mufflers. If a shop can fix it cheap, take them up on it. If you want the Greddy, go with it but that's a good chunk of change
