VTC Grounding Question..

I read up on Craigbrace's guide on grounding the VTC's on my 93 SE AT, and I'm a little unclear on one thing.

Am I basically "splitting" the yellow wire into 2, one going to where it normally goes and the other going to a ground bolt?

Or am I rerouting this yellow wire to the ground bolt altogether?

Hope I'm making sense..

Thanks

Goes directly to the bolt. Dont reconect it to the other end of the yellow wire. Make sure you seal off all the bare wire also.

Ah I did it right then. I was wondering if I did it correctly because it didn't do much except for making the idle a little rough.

I just did an oil change and used the toyota filter along with a switch to 10w30 and wow... it not only runs a little smoother, the clacking has been reduced to around 20% of the time.

Should I keep the VTC grounded after having switched to the yota/synthetic?

Thanks a lot!

I would leave it grounded, i have had mine grounded for almost 2 years with no issues. I am running mobil 1 5w-30 and a mobil 1 oil filter with anti drain back. Having the oil staying up in the motor and using a lighter weight oil might be helping to

I'm not sure but I thought I read on that page that if you ground the wire and your idle gets rough then your VTCs aren't necessary having a problem.
