Center Dask Backlight/illumination

I noticed that all my climate control buttons and things dont light up from behind. I cant see anything at night. BUT, the little light that shows when the button is depressed lights up fine. Illumination brightness is on high.

I dunno where to look. Fuse? power line? bulbs up in there somewhere?

If theres any stickies on the inside or how-to's just link me to them. Probably a common-enough Q: that someone can tell me right off the bat.

OH! And I still need one of those popout trays that goes under the radio, so if anyone is parting out on their maxi.. lemme know, Thanks!

Are you saying that your dash lighs aren't coming on or that only the climate control lights aren't working? I would say check all you're fuses first.
About the pop out tray do you mean a stock one or a taurus cup holder tray? I have a spare taurus one I'll sell if that the one your looking for.

Never knew about a taurus job. I was looking for the stock unit, but if it looks clean and is similar in appearance, I'll take the taurus one. Pics? I know what my slideout tray looks like.

Fuses huh.. I'll have a look tomorrow. Its just in the center climate control area. If its not the fuses, then what?

welcome to maxima.org, like you suspected lots of your questions have been asked before and if you donate to the site, you can search and find all the answers!

the bulbs probably need to be replaced
12v minilamp from Radio Shack part # 272-1092
Getting to the bulbs is a little bit of a pain. You'll need to remove the center radio trim piece, remove the radio and then you should be able to drop the climate control piece down (after removing it's four screws).

search ebay for the taurus cupholder. It's also used in some Saab 900s. I think you have to do a little modification to make it fit, but it's not hard.

Craig, how do you remove these mini bulb? And when you install new bulb, how do you determine the polarity?
