So, I got my tranny cooler in the mail yesterday, and am preparing to install it sometime this week. To figure out how the fluid in the tranny line runs, the directions say this:

- Disconnect the main coil wire from the distributor to prevent the engine from starting.
- With the trans. in Park, have a helper crank the engine over a few revolution. The transmission oil will either flow from the radiator or the disconnected tube

Now, with the wire disconnected from the distributor (or whatever its called that I have), how does a friend crank the engine a few revs? Am I getting too bogged down in the jargon? I am a newbie when it comes to car parts and their functions, so I guess I just can't see how this is accomplished. Now, if anyone here has already done this install, could they just help a fellow Max owner and tell me which tube is the inlet to the radiator, and vice versa. Pretend that you are looking down into the engine from the top. Is the outlet the left or right hose? Thanks for any info.

Crank call

With the distributor coil wire disconnected, the car will still crank but it will not fire as there will be no spark at your spark plugs.

Brent.
