Hub Dilema

I need a wheel hub really badly, my front left is banging really badly now, when I replaced the wheel bearing up there I noticed that the hub was chewed up pretty bad where it fits into the bearing. I cant seem to track down an ABS hub for it, so my question is can I run a non ABS hub there or will it simply not fit the same at all and if I could run the non ABS hub is there a way to dissable the ABS system for all four wheels so I don't run into trouble when I slam on the brakes?

I don't see no reason why you couldn't run a non ABS hub. The ABS system will automatically disable it self once you start rolling (ABS light will turn on) because the system will not see that wheel. With the ABS system disable there's nothing to fear if you slam on the brakes.

yes you can and like I posted in your FS thread it doesnt have to be from a manual...just from a VE.

Here is what you need to do if you want to keep your ABS. Take the new non ABS hub and assy. down to the machine shop and have them swap the good non chewed up hub into the ABS knuckle while they are doing the bearing so you can keep your ABS. Unless your knuckle assy is chewed up as well.

The only difference in the ABS and non ABS is the knuckle because the ABS knuckle has the mounting holes for the ABS sensor so you can use your knuckle from the ABS car if its not messed up.

i believe it's different length axles...not sure if it's the hubs. easy way to check is to see if you can sleeve the hub to the CV axle on the car. if you can then you're good.
