1 year, Please read on 9-17-06

Hey guys, I know this is a little silly but thought I’d make a thread about this. Today 9-17-2006 my 1st year with my Maxima, I got it today one year ago and it has never broken down on me even after putting 21k miles in 1 year, it has been the BEST car I’ve ever owned and hope to keep it alive for many years and many more miles to come. This is also the first car I learned to work on even though I was taught / shown on other cars but basic things. Here are some pictures of it from the first day it came home with me after being parked in a lot for over 3 years, man was it dirty!. Little history about it (lol) got it really cheap with 141k miles (internetautomart price cheap) from an old man because he thought the timing belt snapped and made it run like crap, it was the MAF. So 1 year later I added up ALL the receipts from all the maintenance work I’ve done on it (mostly all by myself) in an Excel spreadsheet and the total comes up to $ 2,641.97 and I’m still not done with it, I just haven’t had money to get the stuff I wanna take care of. So overall experience with my Maxima has been great, love it and car has lots of sentimental value (no I’m not gay) here are some pics, sorry I couldn’t make a lovey dubby slideshow with love songs in the background. Michael I need you to help me restore the body dammit! Oh also, that means it has been little over a year since I joined the org, cant wait to donate once I get my debit card in the mail! You guys have been great to me also. Thanks A LOT.

Wow, didnt expect to get all this feedback about cars anniversary lol. who said I had mods? lol I wish I did but first I wanna get my car in tiptop condition mechanically then I can do a few mods here and there. The only "mods" I do have I guess would be the 4th gen SE rims, FSTB, KYB GR2, blue LEDs in dash, VE cluster if that counts, aftermarket radio with subs, fog lights since its a GXE, and incredibly clean engine hoping to make like Dannys or Michaels one day.

So yeah that's my story.

Sounds like mods to me... at least more than what I have done

My list:
Changed stock hubs to some non popular brand rims
Got a Panasonic CD face unit
Changed stock spark plugs

Well Mr. VEvolution, to answer your question I'm gonna post some pics I just took..man was it a long night. I was on my way home and saw a parking lot along with sunrise and turned around and took some quick shots (a year later ) not the best but I guess enough contrast from the pics of a year ago.

Nice pics and congratulations.

In 6 more months, I would have had my Maxima for 10 years. I drove it 113K miles in the years I've owned it and this is by far the most reliable, most fun to drive car I have ever owned.

Man, I kinda feel like a douche now for not knowing my exact day of purchase. (I didn't register it for awhile afterwards) but these cars are definatly durable and fun. I was a full blown old school muscle car guy before I bought it and now I'm pretty much fasinated and obsessed with maximas and all their glory...

I hear ya, I get tired of telling people (redneck) that old muscle is old, we can get the same done all while getting 10 extra MPG at the same time.

Well it's not even the mpg that i like better... I still love old muscle cars but I just got tired of not being able to corner worth a damn, with my max i get better gas milage,i can corner way better and do it with style, not to mention I hate rice cars and this is one of the few nineties cars i consider not to be a ricer

Well guys, I made this thread about a year ago. Its been a year and I still have my maxima. Bought 2 years ago with 141,319 and now it has 181,300 (i fell 19 miles short of being 40k even) The amount of maintenance updating spent now is at $5,237.14, if anyone actually cares to see my "list" on excel spreadsheet I'll post it at someones request. 2 years, 2 accidents but I've taken care of most of the hits myself, all I need it rust and the quarter panel replaced to have a good looking Max. Hopefully this year I can really get the bodywork/paint done along with some electrical work.
