has your car been repainted before? The orange peel looks a little much for the factory paint job. One thing about the 3rd gens is they had a nice slick paint job for the most part compared to cars now a days with a ton of peel (even very expensive cars have a ton of peel).

Anyway nice and clean...what kind of wax are you using?

again no...the peel is obvious when looking at the DOI (distinction of image) in the picture of his reflection...that is not the camera.

Anyway I dont want people to think I am ******* the car its just that most 3rd gens I have seen dont have that much peel in them and figured the car was repainted...no disrespect intended.

what tha...ok then...its peel on an older car. Do you people not believe me with all the body and paint work I have done that I know what orange peel looks like

sheesh where is Dan and Juan when I need them.

Both of my black Maximas were slick with the factory paint. You can see the tiny dimples in his paint. It is a respray with slight orange peel...its not like its excessive or anything its just got a little peel is all...thats not taking away from the over all cleanleness of the car. This all started with my just asking if he had a respray.

I didn't want to say anything bad. But thats fuggen orange peel. Anyone off the street with 2 cents will tell you that.

You can even see how poor the prep was just looking at edge of the door moldings.

The wax did make it shine. I think a high speed buffer would smooth it out with some rubbing compound.

The factory paint on my car was like glass till I messed it all up.

Looks good. I noticed your rear centre-piece applique doesn't quite match flush with the tails though. It was just an observation since I removed mine yesterday and debadged it.

Keep her looking clean.

nice job wish I had the energy to do mine once more before winter hits. I like the corners, wish my clear corners had some kind of tint or smoke to them.

There is definitely some orange peel in there, but the paint is nice and glossy and you did a good job waxing it. It's a lot of work and I need to get outside and wax my Tundra double cab today. I have been dreading it.

As for you Maxima, I usually get a super soft toothbrush and go over the crevices. Especially on the door trim, door handles and trim around the windows and lights. I also open up the hood and trunk and get the excess with a toothbrush or rag.

Nice job. Did you get a new driver's front fender before, during or after the wax?

Very nice.. You'll definatly turn heads with that shine.
Did you just wax?
Clay bar and polish right before the wax usually give it the ultimate shine.
I can also see you had the same problem like I did with the wax getting on the rubber/plastic plastic trimming.
Have fun getting that out! I still havn't figured out what to use to get that crap out.
Ruins the whole look of the car IMO.

Those track editions(maybe??) look really good with the car btw

YUP they are horrible...Ford, Nissan (at least the SUVs and trucks...not sure about the cars) and others arent any better. If I paid that much for a car I would be really upset about the amount of peel in it.

Its nothing that cant be cured with a little wetsanding and buffing but the problem with new cars is the clear is so thin you really cant do that unless you spray extra layers of clear and who wants to go throught all that work on a car you just spent a ton of money on.
