Front door speaker(Bose replacement)

Hi guys!

I need some input about replacing the bose frontdoor spearkers.

i found 2 cheap speakers on ebay, they are about the same price. I want to know which is better and if they can fit in my front door.

here are the links:

I would go with the Kenwood for brand name, but the RMS wattage for the Dual seems to be better. From experience however, the DUAL brand often overstate their RMS wattage, and the speakers seems to be very unresponsive at a lower volume (metallic sounding bass hits). My suggesstion would be for you to go to a local BestBuy and listen to the differences since they carry both brands there, then make your decision.

True! cheap brands usually overrate their products. Kenwood is a better brand but both set of speakers are for a basic sound, don't expect to have a nice and clear sound at some volume.

basically its just to replace the front door. I just need low sound(alittle mid range and some tweeter sounds), i love base and i got a subwoofer in the trunk already. so the front speaker will be faded out alot.

Would both of them fit in the front door?

Yes, In the front door you can fit 4" or 4"x6" if you have the stock panels.

go through the stickies and look for craig brace's site -- specifically the part about replacing your window regulator. There is all the info there about taking off the door panel properly. The entire panel comes off pretty easy you just didn't find all of the screws.

As for the speakers, it seems obvious that you don't give a crap about listening to music, only feeling bass. Take whatever speakers you want. They are both basically cheap OEM style replacements.

Stock size is 4 inch in the front doors but you can either buy or build speaker pods that will fit in the same location or you can cut the stock bose pods and put in either a 5 inch or 6.5 inch speaker.

Here is what James92SE's pods built for 6.5s look like:

You are also going to have to bypass the bose amp. Each speaker has it's own amplifier attached to it. That goes for all four of them.

Thanks for the heads up, most likely i'll buy those pods from him if he has any available.
