Rotting front end

Damnit. I was jacking my car up today from the square tab in front of the rad, and the grille and bottom was bending worse than Beckham. Then I looked under after I was all done, and noticed that it was very rusty in that area. The red dot below is the square jacking point, and where I circled in green is the area I wanted to ask you guys about:

Keep in mind nothing broke when I jacked, but I wonder, should I do it from the cross-member from now on for front wheels, or can I jack on the side frame rails, put a safety stand on one end on the back of the control arm bolt point, then go around the other side and do the same?

And this was a pic of my car taken last week after it was clay barred and waxed with the Meguiar's line of products:

i never recommend jacking for the radiator support and always recommend using the frame ( if you can call it that) when ever possible. but yeah the cross member is a WAY better idea
