Problems with headlight chime
Problems with headlight chime
My problem is this: Whenever you the car off with the headlights on and open the door there should be a chime or something to remind you to turn off the headlights, right? On my car, the chime doesn't happen. It bothers me because I know some day I'll forget to turn them off and drain the battery- not something I want to do with winter coming. Anyone else have this problem or am I imagining that there ever was a chime for headlights? I'd like to put a switch in of some sort that connects the headlights to the key being in the ignition, so if anyone has done anything like that I'd love to hear it. Otherwise I'm gonna have to go to the dealer to try and get it fixed. Thanks for your help-
there's a box underneath the dash, circuit board might need to be resoldered. i forget exactly which one it is but it's one of the ones in red. might also be a faulty chime itself. could be anything in the circuit but i'd start with the control unit. i think it's the theft warning one. all i know is the chime quits when it's unplugged.

I would love to have that feature on a max. My first car was a turbo volvo, and it had a great feature where the lights would turn off when the key was out. If you figure out how to do that, let me know Brian!
