possibly changing out all 6 injectors
possibly changing out all 6 injectors
so basically only #6 gave me an ohm reading that was within spec. odd thing is that the car doesn't drive like it has 5 bad injectors. i just put in new cap, rotor, plug and wires so i know the spark is good.
so pinnacle nissan offers OEM at 105 a piece, aftermarket seems to be going for 93 each and bosch's for about 95 each. but the oem and aftermarket units carry a one year warranty compared to bosch's 3 month warranty. considering the current set of injectors lasted for over 220k miles i guess i can be assured of their quality versus the unknown of the aftermarkets..
thoughts - opinions?
here's the ghetto part of my question..
i probably won't be able to afford all 6 at one time - maybe more like 2 at a time. which of the offenders should i go for first - the injectors registering no resistance at all or the ones with off-the-chart resistances?
and before anyone wastes their time suggesting a JDM replacement, I really don't have the time or the patience to be dropping in a new motor which though may be low mileage may also be bringing with it, it's own set of issues.

if the car drives fine like you say, imo, you should just save up and install all 6 at once. doesn't make sense to pull the plenum off 3 different times if you plan on replacing them all anyway. oem injectors are bosch, strange how the warranty is different. if it were me, i'd go with the $95 ones just because i doubt brand new injectors are going to fail in a year regardless.
I replaced all 6 with OEMs from Pinnacle a year ago. Couldn't be happier. I would order from them again, and install was smooth with FSM instructions for torque sequence. I can't help you with the resistance question, as EVERYONE I talked to said do it all at the same time. Good luck to you with this.
thanks for the replies guys....i actually found the bosch's for 83...of course now i'm getting really hypersenstive to the symptoms and feel like it's getting worse....damn these small motors...i miss working on my big blocks..
i was thinking eactly what you advised internetautomar but again, now i'm dreading doing this job once let alone 2 or 3 times...just more chances at breaking the peripheral stuff..
these things are so friggin expensive - it's amazing

Yeah I replaced all 6 this summer through internetautomar. My friend replaced one on his car over the summer and now he has to do another one. He wishes he had done all 6 at once. Speaking of which internetautomar have you recieved an order from Dennis yet? in Plano, TX? If you haven't then don't worry about sending him the plenum that I was going to order.

Would you happen to know what the sequence is??

I am talking about the intake manifold collector and the Plenum.....
I would really appreciate if you guys would let me know, it is the only thing holding me from completing the job!!!!
Would the Chillton manual have this ???
Thanks a bunch!
I had bad injectors at 185k, I just replaced the 2 that where bad. Then at 195k another 2 went bad so I replaced the remaining 4. At 208k, 12 months and 13,000 miles later the last 4 replaced all when bad together.
The 13,000 was important, that was 1,000 more than warrenty, so I ended paying for the work again. Did get Nissian to at least pay for new injectors.
My suggestion is replace all every time. Even if you get bad batch like me. I like one tech said "It is like Lighting on is stikes all your wiring is bad". Later that made since to me, but at the time it seamed like a sales ploy.

I dont know if you replaced the injectors yet but I have a 91 & mine started
missing sometimes. I found high resistance on 4 of the injectors & all of the connectors were corroded because of poor weather packing. I went to a
junkyard & replaced the injectors & harness with one from a 93 which has better weater pack & less chance of it happening again. car runs great now its been 1 1/2 years & 22000 miles
