Do I have limited slip?
Just wonderin because i had it jacked up. And put it in 1st gear.
Spun the drivers wheel, and the passenger wheel spun the opposite way.
Bad lsd>?
Didn't try it in nuetral... Too late to check the axles where pulled earlier.

I looked at the drivers side axle. It has 2 sets of splines. The passenger has one.

So my options were to
A. Buy a bearing and a new vg axle. No lsd.
B. Buy a VE parts car. Swap it all over. Enjoy nailing those corners with a little more confidence.
I didn't realize till I saw it, but those VE are really beefy.
I hope this tranny is in good shape, the lady that had it said it was fine(Doesn't mean anything).
In any of the northern states and Canada you could buy an optional block heater from Nissan back in the day.. where it is exactly, I can't tell you.. but usually they would be poked into a freeze plug on the block and would have a wire hanging out of it. so look around on your block for a wire sticking out of a freeze plug.
As for the limited slip...
When you had it in 1st gear and turned the tranny, how hard was it to turn the wheels? if it turned easily- i.e. with one arm, then you don't have LSD- or it's dead.
If it took both arms to turn it, then you have LSD. IIRC the breakaway torque on the VE tranny is somewhere around 40-50ft.lb.

But like i was saying i was in the garage today and i noticed that when i turn one of the wheels is the other suppose to turn the opposite dirrection on a non vsld tranny while in netural. because it did nothing. i was wondering is it a bad diffential or somthing.
ps: but if the tranny is in gear they both turn

I'm about to, I'm told you need to remove all the gears and have it pressed out and the new one pressed in.
