yup and I was surprised to find out that the OEM one was cheaper (even from the local dealer) than the aftermarket ones.

I searched every thread started by CandiMan, and nothing regarding a heat write up & so on. I also went back about 5 pages on the Forum, and couldn't find anything. Could you just post a picture of the bleeder vavle on a VE & maybe the procedure? Thanks Michael.

He didnt start the thread but I was wrong about it being in the last couple of days. I read it the other day so thats why I thought it was on this or the next page but I read it when I was searching for something else and the post was actually a while back...sorry bout that.

the bleeder screw is under the little tab that says "do not open when hot" or something like that. Its around the TB.

Here is the link to the thread

The bleeder is a bolt on top of the bypass hose connection, right in front of the throttle body. It has a gold tag that says "Don't remove hot", or something to that effect, right next to it. You warm up the engine (not hot, like the tag says) and loosen the bolt and let the air escape until antifreeze dribbles out. However if you really have no heat, you need to do the jack the front up procedure in the writeup.

Are you sure you got the thermostat in the right way? The spring goes towards the block and the pyramid shaped end goes towards the radiator. If it's backwards you can get overheating when the engine is slow and proper cooling when going fast ( stirs coolant enough to get it to the TS thermal actuator on the radiator (wrong) side).

it will not go in backwards. I think I tried it just to see and it wouldnt fit but I may be wrong because its been a while...or course this is on the VE...I really cant remember on a VG because its been a really long time since I worked on one of those.

It wont go in backwards on the VG either. I just put mine in 2 days ago. The "long" side of the tstat will point outwards on the VG.

Not saying this is your problem, but my Maxima had a winter of no heat. The driver side vents had a tiny amount of heat, the passenger side had none. Turned out my radiator was low on coolant-noticed one winter night when the temp gauge went up toward the redline. Isn't there also some gizmo on the firewall that can fail and give you no heat? What about a clogged heater core in the dash?

haha i laugh at you people with no heat! only joking, I've been lucky with this, my car is at operating temp within 5-10 minutes and it gets to be a bit of a sweat lounge in there after awhile. I'm dreading the day the ol' core goes out on me though. Untill then it's...
