Synthetic oil? (non-maxima question)
I have a question about oils...
I took my G35 to get it's 3rd oil change today and in the previous oil change it's had Synthetic put in it. Well when they changed the oil today they put regular oil (called 530 not sure what that means). Luckily I asked her before I left and I told her it's supposed to be getting Synthetic... So basically the car was driven maybe 200 feet from the service station to the pickup with regular oil in it. After I told her she had them take it back in and change the oil again to put Synthetic in it like it was supposed to be done the first time.
I was just curious if anyone knew what effects having the normal oil in the car for that 200 feet of driving. Should I be concerned at all for the car? The car only has 7000 miles on it. The lady said it wouldnt really have any adverse effect on the car since it was barely driven, but she was a Service Manager and I can't really trust her word since she's the one that screwed it up. I know it's not 3rd gen related but I was hopin you experts could throw me a bit of feedback.
Thanks,

Really? I mean how many of you run synthetic oil on your 3rd gen? I thought this would only benefit newer cars, so even if you don't know the history of the car is a good idea to start using syn***ic? My VG have 134,000 now, I bought it with 127,000 two years ago, 4 regular oil changes so far, what do you think? is it worth it?

I run Mobil 1. Is it worth it? Hmm I don't really know, I don't put a lot of miles on, but I do drive in a rough climate (Canada), any my car does have VTC's. SO anything that helps start-ups in the cold, and keeps my oil passages unclogged works for me.
On the other side of the coin, I'm going to change my manual transmission fluid within the next few weekends, and I'll be using dino oil. The extra cost simply isn't justified to run synthetic.
