Turn signal/headlight switch stalk

Regarding the 3rd gen turn signal/headlight switch stalk, were they different from 1989-1992 vs. 1993-1994? I ask because I found this perfect-condition unit ages ago, and was gonna swap mine out for it (my car is 1993) today, but when I took the steering column trim apart, my 1993 stalk had 2 receptacles for 2 plugs, while the one I got from the junkers only had one receptacle (for the big one).

Am I right that 1989-1992 is diff from 1993 and 1994, and if so, what the hell is the small plug for anyway? Thanks in advance.

I swapped out my old headlight stalk[2 plug type] with a one plug type stalk...
I works just fine, everything still works as it did before the old stalk failed..

I can confirm that the ones for '92 have two receptacles. Maybe the second plug has something to do with DRL.

I'll bet you don't have cornering lights though..

I have done the craig brace corner light rewire,so i wouldn't have noticed them not working anyway...

I always thought the cornering light was standard on all 1989-1994 models. Thanks for confirming.

It's probably just a design change in the switch then..

the corner light hook up is probably part of the big switch on the other one.

Yeah,my theory is the 89-91 cornering lights are activated by a separate relay/control module,vs. the 92-94 being activated by the headlight switch..

Just a theory though..
