I raced a Acura Integra and a Honda CRX the other day and beat them. Is this possible?? Both of them were hooked up. I don't have any mods done (i just bought it used, i don't see any mods done to mine).

What's your opinion?

Yeah it's possible, especially if their older Integras (LS, GS) I have found out that about 90% of the riced out Acuras you see are mostly all show and no go.. It's that 10% that you have to watch out for.. I once made the mistake of racing a Turbo Civic. (I found out when he started revving at the light and I hear a BOV).. Didn't feel to bad cause I witnessed the same Civic hand a newer Mustang GT his ***..

Do you have an auto or stick? VE/VG? SE/GXE?

What years Civic and 'Teg?

If youve got the 5spd and VE (Youve got a '93, right?) you should be able to beat nearly all Tegs and Civics. A GSR will probably beat you, but you should take Si's.

I've seen a couple of quick GS-R's.. Just don't try to go up against a Type R if you are a stock GXE auto.. Most of the guys here drive plain jane Integra's with body kits and 1000 decibel exhaust systems.. In fact, I see more Type R's than GS-R's.. Oh yeah, I also see the infamous Civic Type R, Accord Type R and yes even a Ford Escort Type R... (ok, I'm being sarcastic but I'm sure we have all seen those Type R badges)..

heh

I'm not into racing, but......

My completely stock in terms of power mods car has beaten:

1992 Toyota Camry V6 auto
87-89 Acura Legend V6 auto
current Chevy Cavalier coupe 5spd
early 90s Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme auto

A few other cars too, some I wouldn't really call roadkills nor would I call them real races, but the above are the most recent/memorable ones......

Do you know what the switch is near my shifter? It says, A/T and on the top its Power and the bottom is Comfort.
Anyone know? and how to use it?

Thanks for the replies.

Sweet.. I sort of have an idea of what I'm up against.

gracias

I think a VE 5sp is equal to a GS-R(stock or mod for mod), and from a start the maxima would kill the integra. The problem that I would run into is that there is so much stuff out there that you can buy for your honda that will make it fly. The site that I frequent for 1/4 times has the maxima and integra with same 1/4 times at 15.5 seconds, with the Si 2/10 behind at 15.7

Weird, I can't find the original message you quoted, but whoever asked it here's the answer: If you switch it to Power it will be a less comfortable ride because it changes gears at higher RPMs, giving you better acceleration, while comfort it will switch at lower RPMs. I'd reccomend leaving it in the middle, so it will usually be on comfort but will switch to power when you punch the gas.

Well, I beat a Cavalier (new body style) Z24, or whatever they're called nowadays, with a really LOUD muffler just yesterday. I think he thought I had a really loud muffler, too! Chump didn't know I have a straight pipe!! He got me off the line, but I ran him down about a block or so, and after that, he was reading my rear license plates!! I still would rather have my cat back, but beggars can't be chooser's.
