Exedy Clutch= OEM???

I was noticing how people advertise the Exedy clutch as being OEM. Does Exedy manufacture the stock clutches for this car, or is it false advertising?

not sure! but exedy clutches dont hold up too well. i had an exedy clutch there garbage. they are okay for daily driven purposeses but for a saturday night drag run there is your problem. the problem is clutch center spring diaphram. here is a pic of what its like to launch at 6000rpm and have a spring and metal ball bearing enplode inside the bell housing it pretty much crack the entire case

You should never have to launch your Maxima anywhere remotely close to 6k rpm.

Exedy makes different clutches. Most of the inexpensive ones you see on ebay are OEM replacements. There are a lot of members who have had good luck with higher Exedy clutches (Stage 1?) I know that MrGone had one on his car.
