Vibrating When Braking

Alright. Problem is when braking.

When I'm coming to a fairly quick stop, or a stop from higher speeds (Getting off of the interstate) The whole steering wheel bounces up and down. I would say vibrate but it really does kind of hop up and down. The steering column feels kind of loose already so I'm sure that is elevating the amount of vibration I get, but I assume it shouldn't be there in the first place.

Any insight as to what this might be? I'm thinking rotors need to be sanded down, or by this point maybe even new one's. But would they cause all of that vibration?

You need to either have you're rotors machined or replaced..They are warped..

Yeah, well I just did the rear drums and shoes. So I guess I should order some new rotors and pads for the front. More fun!

you should take your rotors to a local brake shop and have them turn them for you first. It can save you a lot of money. I think I turned my rotors for about $8 to $12 each rotor, whereas a new OEM rotor is about $35 to $40 each.

My 1cent.

OooOOOooo... that's fun! So, Maxshima, if you do turn your rotors, make sure to ask the shop to keep the shavings!!!

get new rotors. turning/cutting your rotors will cause the rotors to warp again (at a faster rate).

look in the GD section...pick up some brembo rotors from importrp.com and match them up with a set of axxis ultimate pads.

I agree 100%
Of all the cars I have driven over the years, turned rotors rarely last more than a quarter of the original condition rotor life (i.e. you got 4 years out of your rotor before they “warped” after turning you might get another year out of them.) In fact my dads Volvo 850 after turning, warped after just 3 months later, he was mad for sure.

If you get new non performance rotors average price is from $20-$55 for our Maximas...cutting your rotors will cost between $8-$12 so just a few more bucks and get new ones
