intermittent power loss

ok so last week i started having issues on cold starts, the starter would go but it was like I wasn't getting any fuel, I could hit the gas when I would let up off the key and it would sometimes start up. but it would always start after a few tries. Now I seem to also have a surging effect when driving, the car feels like it is going to stall out when I am sitting still and when I press the gas I and keep it in one position it surges like 30% power then 50% then 70% then 100%. At higher RPMs it seems fine so I am thinking this is a fuel flow issue but I can't trace it. I replaced the pump relay, fuel filter, tested the fuel pump for resistance, tested the injectors and they all come out fine. Now I do have a miss on the number 5 cylinder and that injector tested out fine and I swapped coil packs with a working one and still was missing. So I am wondering if maybe the injector is clogged(I havent pulled it from the rail). My idle will intermittently jump all over the place too and then stall out so I know that is related. The last thing I have yet to try is a compression test which I am not sure about. Any opinions would be helpful, I just hit 260K exactly when this happened and I know I can get more out of it.

Thanks

have you checked the trottle body recently, may need to clean it out. mine was dirty and gave me the feeling of flat engine sometimes while driving, or would stall right after start and put to gear. after cleaning the trottle body have no problem any more. it's a simple procedure.
my maxima 95 has 255000 km, A/T.

Mine has been acting similar and I'm getting random misfires after having done my plentum and valve cover gaskets..and yes I'm only at 165k, I also know I can get more.
