Dual Stage Muffler

I've been hearing about deep-tone mufflers (Magnaflow, Flomaster, eBay...) and other mufflers, like Greddy, Dynamax, etc. but what I really want and need (in addition to all the other work needed on the car) is a muffler that is fairly quiet (almost like stock- or rather a stock G35) but opens up at high-end revs to give performance and some good sound without highway drone. Would a stock 2-stage muffler from a 2000-2001 SE do the trick? I think those were designed that way, correct me if I'm wrong. I'd also like to put some nice double walled dual chrome exhaust tips on there. What other options are there? Does anyone have one lying around? Thanks.

I have a dual muffler from a g35 coupe. It's 'free flow' has a nice throaty done and no drone. But I doubt you'll wanna cut out your spare tire well.

The g35 sedan muffler might be your best bet... although I don't know how much back pressure it has compared to our stock muffler. I know 5th gen muffler are popular here.

Can we confirm that the 5th Gen muffler is in fact "dual stage"? Anybody who has one on their car, please chime in.

it is dual stage. if you go to any 2000-2003 car while its running at idle, only 1 tip actually has exhaust coming out. the other stays almost completely shut. rev it up and you should see both have exhaust come out

Hm, well that would make it much more convenient than the G sedan muffler since it would be center inlet. Any idea how much they weigh? And what's the inlet diameter?

Hmmm.... I may be seriously interested. What is the inlet diameter? I'm looking at 2.5" to hook it up to a WSP setup. On the dual tips, can they be swapped out for some bigger chrome dual-wall tips? How much do you want for it shipped to FL, 32615? PM me. Thanks.
