So personally I dont care, I'm happy with my VG which still has ***** compared to lot of other cars.
Don't be sure about the VQ walking away from the VE.
I've seen it the other way

My 93 GXE ruled, but it had a nasty rust problem. I didn't know about the problems with the VE motors until after I bought a 93 SE off of Ebay. But I stole it for $790! So thats a good starting off point. It had a few problems, but they're getting fixed one by one (a JDM motor coming in the spring). Plus, I swapped some parts from my GXE, then sold it (the GXE) to a buddy, after we did some patching. Anyway, if I had it to do all over again, I would probably stick to the GXE. With a y pipe, K&N air filter, and a set of KYB struts, I was very happy with mine, and it seems like there's a lot more that can be done with them.

the vg stock does but see to me it isnt so much about the gas milage as its not that much of a difference in miles per gallon i rather sacrafice those few miles more you all get for the more hp i get with my VE-5

Nice rear end, I too debadged the 89SE tails on my 93. I used Goof-Off and a hair dryer.

For sporty wishes, I would have to say the 1994 SE 5-sp is the best model. It was also only in 1994 that Nissan added a ski-bag pass-though through the armrest.

For luxury and pimpness, early-production 1992s (i.e. made in late 1991 as a 1992 model) were the best because there was a fully-equipped package with airbag which also had the HUD (they kiiboshed the HUD after 1991 models).

I know that mang. Like I said above, it was only available from 1989-1991 on some GXEs, and in early 1992s, as some 1992 models were built in fall of 1991. Furthermore, the HUD option was strictly limited to only the GXEs and Broughams, but not on any SEs. You guys got the white gauges. I plan to do the HUD mod next summer when it gets warm.

I have owned a 92 se and a 94 se and have looked at several other
89-94GXE and se models and IMO I feel the 94 se 5 speed is the
best all around max in 3rd gen models. Mine has 248,000
and has been trouble free.

I wonder what the cause of oil consumption is and I wonder if it's related to being fwd?

My Infiniti has the VQ35DE and with almost 90k miles it runs perfectly and uses no oil (knock on wood).

As for the mpg thing, The engines are probably the same, depending on how well it's maintained and what mods you have. Every time I take a trip with mine, I get at least 28 mpg and I always drive above the speed limit.

Don't know. It appears to be a real hit or miss issue. Basically a quality control issue more than design flaw from the sound of it.

Well my buddy had a brand new BMW with 255hp and he definatly was NOT leaving my 190hp VE at all from a 20-40mph roll. Of course he has every excuse in the book for why that happened. Too bad he wrecked it awhile back so we can't "double check"
