haha I am pretty sure I saw the wheels you are looking at or thinking about last night .

I am also pretty sure they will not fit. I am pretty sure 8" wheels are about as wide as you can go but I will let Matt or one of the other wheel experts answer that.

Well to run a 9" wheel, you would need to run something in the high 30 to 40mm offset to clear the fender. Not sure if you'll have enough room inside to clear the strut. 9" = at least a stretched 245 or a 255-265. That will really make clearance CLOSE in there. I tried to see if some GTR wheels would fit as they are 9" but I don't think they would have. Never actually tried them though.

I ran 18x8 w/ 30mm offsets and it was about flush to the fender. With ~some~ room on the inside.

If you're looking at the rear they should fit with spacers but won't tuck, Now the front might be a different story.

I'm running 8.5" all around with 225/40 and I'm right on the egde in the front.(235/40 18 will not fit in the front without fender mods)

PERFECT! I wanted to modify the fender just a hair for that perfect fender line.

I was looking at a fender rolling tool anyway.

my 18x8 +30 offset rims rubbed in the back for me. i am lowered on intrax with the 1.7 drop so i had my rear fender wells rolled. and it gave a good 3/4 inch clearance....goodluck with it.

tough one. i had 18x7.5 w 48mm offset and they rubbed in the back and were way close in the front. plenty of wheelflare room though. i could turn my wheels when the car was fully down without rubbing

Now my question for the wheel guys.

These wheels are for a mustang so the opening for the hub is larger than our nissan hubs. I know that for the guys running the mustang rotors they used a hub centric right to fill the gap. Where can I get that ring? I need 4.

OR

Where can I get custom spacers to mate a mustang wheel to nissan hub?

I think I need a 55x35mm ring

actually the wheels use a standard hole and you put hub centric rings into the wheel so you have more options and will fit a wider range of cars.

You can get the correct hub centric rings for the Maxima that fit those wheels so it will be easier to get a Maxima spacer.

Or you can take the hub centric ring thats in there now and get a spacer that has the outer ring for the center of the wheel and inner of the Maxima.

The best thing would be to get the correct hub ring for the wheel that fits the maxima and then just get hub centric spacers for the Maxima. That way if you ever wanted to get other wheels you can do it easier.

Well the fronts only have a 1/4 betwean the rim and strut.

So I think a 1" spacer will do for the front.

The rears hit the strut with 1/4" to go. Probubly 1.5" spacer is needed.

remember a tire could add extra width for rubbing so be sure to get a right tire size...

here is a tip for you that you might have thought of already. Take a bunch of washers and put on the wheel studs (obviously the same amount on each stud) until you get the correct spacing. Measure the washer stack and get that size spacer custom made. That way you may actually fit it without having to do a LOT of fender work.

Thanks for the tip. I just measured it by putting the wheel on the hub and measured the tire to the strut. I'll give it a try. Might be cheaper getting them custom made anyway. Just need to find a good shop to make em.

for having such big spacers... is it going to F up the bearings? because all the weight is transfered to a diff part and maybe even mess up the struts?

if im wrong explain to me?

make sure you put the tires on before you buy spacers. no need to buy huge ones if you dont need that much room. my 18's were 7.5 and with a 215/35 the tire was flush with the rim. the rear needed a 3/8 spacer because of the 48mm offset, but the front was fine and it sat hairs away from the strut.

The tires are no wider than the rims. Woohoo! I think they need to stretch 1/4 to half to be seated in the rim. So If I'm only a 1/4 away from the strut in the front I don't need to space them out? I was sure I did because I already rub my passenger wheel on a hard left. Maybe I just adjust that bolt that limits my turning. If that all true, then I just need probubly half inch spacers in the back.

ive had some rims dat where fitted with over sized tires once and the tires barely started to rub at 9 inchs in the back but didnt really damage the strut housing as it juz left a nice black marking on the strut housing.

if you were rubbing with the stock 16's it because the tires were way taller and flexed more. rubberbands dont tend to flex. 1/4 inch i think should suffice, i know my back was way tight. the rims are on jason's red max, and its in my yard, so ill check tomorrow how they fit fo sho

Make sense. I acutally got bored this morning and mounted a tire by hand! I found that the tires I have add 3/8" on the inner part of the wheel. Good thing I didn't order spacers yet!

I got the altezzas! Thanks!

elusivemax93, I wrenched in a shop a little bit, even began persuing school. But the pay is limited, unless you own your own shop. I'm trying to be a commercial contractor doing air. One day! But if you love what you do, hope it works out.

How much air do I need in these tires?

the pay as a certified auto mechanic isnt all that bad bro. Plus i love working on cars, its my thing ever since my friend made me help him get down into my first maxima and help to fix it. Now im a grease monkey willing to get down and dirty to fix my own car or others plus i agree im gonna only work for so long as a mechanic at a dealership. Then after so long take my plans forward and get my own shop and start doing nissan preformance since i hardly know of many shops around here where i live that work on nissan as there biggest market. As hondas are very popular and there is also a suburu tuning shop up the ways from where i live.

What is the offset on mine? I run a 1/2" spacer in the rear with 225/40-18s and the fender barely clears it. Dunno what that makes the finally offset.

THey made a mistake with the lugs, right size and design, just black... I wanted chrome, I'm going to see about gettting an exchnage.

Once Tires are mount I'll be able to properly size for spacers. Killing me looking at them NOT on my car. Can't wait to start chopping up the fenders. Hopefully I can get them tight and get in the 1mm club!

Just some pics.

Fronts are hitting the strut, just the tire. I still would like it 20mm off the strut to maintain what little steering radious I have.

Didn't have time to check the rears.
