Just wanted to say I hope everyone has a great Xmas and merry Xmas eve. Also i wanted to thank everyone for helping me so much with my car. whether it was Help, Advice, Tips or even making fun of my ideas... (Danny!) I will not get into religion on this board but will say I am sick of people getting offended by someone mentioning Christ when the holiday is called Christmas for a reason. I celebrate the birth of Christ my savior on this holiday and refuse to leave it out just because it might offend those that don't believe.

But I respect others and their beliefs so...
Happy Hanukkah to you and our other Jewish friends. Happy Ramadan to our Islamic friends and happy Kwanzaa to those that celebrate it.

Now maybe I wont offend anyone with this post

 

Religion is not a debate to get into.
You can mention him all you want, I was just pointing out the unspoken emphasis you put on it.
I completely agree that it is a holiday that is 100% religious in nature and attempts to dereligionize it are goofy.

oh, and Ramadan was a few months back, Islam doesn't use a leap calendar so the holidays move around quite a bit every year.

and if I offended anyone let me know, it probably wasn't intentional

sorry the squinty eyes threw me off there . I thought you got offended by my emphasis.

Honestly I know nothing about other religions but only know those other holidays (Ramadan and Kwanzaa) from watching Blues clues with my daughters. I didn't know when they were celebrated but just know they mention them in their holiday show so figured they were around the same time. I just wanted to be all inclusive to all my friends no matter what their beliefs.

and I agree a hundred percent that religion is not something to get into or even argue about...I mean there are wars going on because of religious differences. The fact is everyone has their own beliefs and we should all respect that.


And HMM I do know where you are coming from with the Futurama reference. I love that show.

Hmm, yeah... the whole "Happy Holidays" is supposedly the more politically correct term in todays "diverse society" now days'. But in all actuality there were many pre-Christian holidays during the same day, week, or just winter in general. Most holidays Christians celebrate were created by pagans. I guess "Yule" would be the most popular, but there are others such as Saturnalia, and Natalis Solis Invicti all celebrated during the same time period.

So have Happy Holidays everyone, whichever they may be

Yea tools FTW.... I bought myself some for Christmas too! (well 3 ahead)
craftsman 155 pc tool set, craftsman 20 pc screw driver set, and a nice craftsman 19.2v drill...I'm almost ready for any job that requires those tools!

All I need is a table vise for now
