Put a piece of cardboard under the engine overnight, then look around with a good flashlight above where the puddle of oil is at on the cardboard...

Some oil leaks travel across other parts of the engine from their origination point,so look carefully at the area of the drip point..

i had a bad cam seal which oiled up my timing belt nice and proper. if you suspect a cam seal and have a belt, get it checked out. if it was leakin on your belt tho and was bad he would have said somethin i figure

I had light leaks around the crank area too. Never enough that I saw leak drops on the grounds. My tranny does it too. Never drop any oil onto the ground. So it never brothered me.

look in the owner's manual and see what it says.

Sometimes it depends on the weather and where you live. I think 10w30 or 5w30 are generally preferred.

There is an oil and lubricants section to see all the arguments about which brand to use.

Personally, I use Mobil 1 because it's cheap at Costco. When I can't get to Costco, sometimes I use the NAPA brand synthetic oil. The manager there told me it was Valvoline.

If you let it get to the point of where the oil light comes on, maybe thats a bit risky, no?
