Having irratic speedo problems,pegs out and odometer stops working.any ideas on failed part and its' location.Thanks

The speed sensor will defintly cause this problem with the speedo. The tach, I donno why it would do that.

Both cluster and sensor could be.

...it's ontop of the tranny near the firewall.

My speedo used to stop working for periods of time, and I noticed that my speed sensor was REALLY dirty from spilled oil, just like greeny's pic. I took out the sensor, cleaned it up, and now everything works fine! Be wary though...the speed sensor for a VG and VE are different, so if you start looking for a new part be sure it's the right one....a foolish mistake I made.
