Wrecking yard parts

How does this work - do you have to take your own tools to the yard to take stuff off ? How about pricing - is there some % of new retail they generally charge? Any one in Dallas know a good yard for Maxima parts?

Some yards will not let you pull the parts yourself, some will....

You need to bring your own tools to the "you pull a part" yards..

If you need certain parts for your maxima try posting in the parts section
for 1-3 gen here. Most parts are forsale here at really reasnable prices.
But if you want to be a junk yard hunter look in your phone book for places
and call to see if their pull yourself, or go in and pick them up already taken off.

Sometimes if you take small parts from salvage yards they will just give them to you and not charge

the u-pull-its around here charge a $2 admission, yes you need to bring your own tools, beer and take the parts off yourself. But because of this, parts are very cheap. They have a price list, if it's not visible, ask them. Don't let some meth head employee overcharge you for stuff. It happened to me before, i paid $125 for a bumper assembly before they had prices posted. I checked the list after they put it up and the price was $50.

There are a lot of junkyards in grand Prairie. I'm heading out to some of them tomorrow.

I go to twin lakes and reyes in Dallas theres a stretch of junkyards there. Just take 75 south and then 45 south and it is the simpson stuart blvd exit. Some of them you can take it off yourself others they do it for you. Bring cash and you can negotiate price.
