Fan Modes Not Working

I got the automatic climate control, and tonight strangely, my mode button, which helps switch the fan flow from foot vents to face vents, or vice versa, or simultaneously, stopped working. I'm only getting air at the windscreen vents.

Possible that it's just a faulty control unit, or am I looking at the various motors? If anyone else ever had this problem, feel free to chime in. It's going to be -17 degrees Celsius when I fire her up tommorrow for work, brrr.

Thanks gents.

I have the manual climate control system and the same problem. No matter which button I push, it stays on the defreoster setting. I hope it's a simple fix, otherwise I'll have to get used to cold feet and a warm head.

I looked under the dash for a pulled wire or other reason, but nothing looks amiss.

does the mode display (little guy with arrows) change when you hit the button? if not, it's just the button or something faulty with the control unit. if it does, it's your doors and you're going to have to tear the dash apart to fix it. sucks it got stuck in defrost mode instead of top/bottom. i wasn't a big fan of the digital controls when i had it. more stuff to go wrong. mine was stuck on full heat, and my fresh air switch wouldn't work either, so it was annoying in the summer because even when the fan was off, it would blow some hot air. i'm lucky it didn't get stuck on cold though. but anyway, the routing is motorized in both auto/digi so i guess your problem isn't the fault of the digital controls (unless it's the unit).

Sounds like a fauly HVAC unit. YOu can get one from the junk yard for 20 or 30 bucks. They're not too hard to replace.

It fixed itself and my feet and hands can be warm now. Thanks guys. I'll just have to pull an extra door motor from the wreckers this weekend.

lucky you. My LCD was completely dead, I can't even see as I pressing it. After I changed to another heater control core. Now, I got only heat no AC. Urghh.... I'm pretty sure AC was on and working cuz the radiator fans kicked on and the compressor clutch engaged.
