Steering wheel replacement.

Steering wheel replacement.
I'm not looking for moral objections to replacing an airbag steering wheel for a non-airbag momo, just someone who's done it before to advise me on how. The only wheel I've ever replaced was like 10 years ago on my old '85 Camaro.

If it were me, I'd be ripping the airbag out as well. I don't like them. Actually, I'd take the airbag wheel out, set it upside down on the ground, and set it off to see how high it would fly.
Its actually very easy doing a steering wheel swap like that. You just need the wheel adapter, which if you go to Momo's site they should have an adapter that fits right on to the Maxima. You could probably even go to Autozone or similar and pick up one of the cheaper adapters. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it would bolt right up.
Most of the aftermarket steering wheels I've seen have a 6 bolt pattern that seems to be pretty standard. I'd get the wheel you want first then check the cheapo kits to see if it fits. If not, get the real deal that works and bolt it up.

oh, try to use a more recent picture. That one was before I got the AE shift ****.
When I first got the car:
What it looks like now (definitely need a short shifter -- never got around to it):

So I did some searching and found this thread, I just replaced my torn up steering wheel with a 1993 Altima's airbag equipped steering wheel identical to mine but now the airbag light wont go away. What do I need to do to get rid of it and have a functional airbag? Thanks in advance

Never mind, kept searching and found this:
I just tried it and the airbag light did slow down and almost gone but still blinking. For those that have the airbag light on, this is what you should do.

The correct procedure:
Get in the car, leave door open and turn the key to ON but don't start.
Within 10 seconds of turning the key to ON, push the switch in the door frame that lets on the courtesy lights 7 times.
Start the car without turning the key to off first.
Turn the car off and start again.
You may notice that the first time you start the car in this procedure the airbag light still blinks, but slower. The second time the light should go off after the initial lightup and then stay off.
