Or we dont count the years when Nissan was Datsun?

theyre counting the datsun 810 as the first gen when in reality theres alot of differences. im pretty sure it was RWD and never had the maxima name until it was called the datsun 810 maxima (aka first gen)

 

well they are wrong, the 810 was different from the maxima that was introduced later.
they point it out themselves that the 810/maxima moniker came with a change in body.

FWIW , I had one of the very last produced RWD maximas.

 

The first to use the name Maxima was the 81-84. That is a "First Generation" Maxima.

I guess they count our cars as the 4th generation 810? I like our method better.

 

i had a 81 it was a cow.

 

I had a 78 datsun B210. Best $ 400 i spent . Even though i could see the road when i drove.
I figure since Datsun became Nissan thats why they consider 1st gen.
But you cant compare. That car was so little. Came wit 14's
