I was wondering how to increaase my idle by a little bit. I heard its supposed to be at 15 degrees and if you turn it to 20...it gives a little more. I was wondering if someone could give me step by step instructions on how to do this along with pictures if possible as I am stupid when it comes to some stuff under the hood. Thanks in advance

Actually it's advancing the timing. I'm not sure you want to try it, if not done properly it can have bad consequences on the engine. You should use a timing gun, not absolutely needed, but I wouldn't advise it. If anything have somebody else with a little more knowledge do it.

no, raising the idle changes what RPM the car idles at when in neutral. Advancing the timing changes when in the combustion cycle the distributor sends a spark to the spark plug.

also when advancing your timing make sure you run 91+ octane fuel or eventually the motor will begin to ping and lead to detonantion..
