how long did it take to get the throttle/cruise cables back how you liked? a simple ¼" longer twist-out or did you adjust a few times?

You can go there to download the Word Document file. Just scroll down a little bit and you'll see it. It's the same full color instructions that I include with every kit!

Yeah, that is one thing I made sure when designing the VE and VG kit. I made sure that the throttle cables will still have the proper tension with the 1/4" TB spacer.

Thank you xx-Marshall-xx for posting those pics! It's so beautiful!!

I just wanted to mention something to everybody. On some of his closeup pictures, you may think that the spacer doesn't follow the outside contour of the upper intake manifold as well as it should. This is because he installed it backwards. But, the ports will still line up perfectly if you flip it over. So he will be fine with it like that. It's just that my spacer kit looks even more pretty when it's installed in the correct direction. It's designed to follow the outside contour of the upper intake manifold, so when it's installed, it looks like it came from the factory like that!

You did good Chris for the first time going into your engine like that! A knock sensor job isn't for everybody! And the very first time you cranked it up, you experienced no intake, fuel or coolant leaks! Good job!

BTW, if anybody needs custom port services, I also offer that. And I will even match your set of spacers to your IM for free with a purchase of a kit.

And to everyone... the reason i pout it on backwards is because i was using the LOWER intake manifold to set it not the upper

i can fix it... idk if i want to maybe then i can get my upper IM powder coated

Your cables seemed fine. They should be snug while allowing your throttle plate to seat fully. But you are fine. I checked them.

so you do not have any kits for the 95-99 model and if so is the tb spacer thick enough to drill for a nitrous nozzle

No, I do not make a kit for the 4th gen. But I can definitely make a TB spacer for the VQ30DE. Someone else mentioned this idea to me.

I still haven't found a 4th gen test vehicle. I haven't had to a chance to conduct my testing in order to find out if a gain can be had with the 4th gen. But I know I can make a throttle body spacer without any problems.

I can make it whatever thickness you need. Send me a PM and we'll discuss it. If there is some interest, then I will definitely make this.

I haven’t seen this addressed, possibly because it is too obvious to even consider... but I assume these spacers don’t require 2 gaskets on each side, correct?

No it doesn't. But it does require a proper coating of RTV Silicone Sealant on both sides of each spacer.

Please feel free to read the installation instructions for the VE30DE found at my website:

http://www.nissanworks.com/Phenolic_Spacers.html

I still have VE30DE Phenolic Intake Spacer kits left in stock.

Hi Aaron, this looks like a great product, do you still have the longer replacement EGR tube? I don't see it on the site now. We have to pass emissions here in Vancouver. I'm also curious, why do we need to bypass the throttle body coolant?

Thanks

Its part of the gains. The whole purpose of this kit is to reduce temps in the metal parts of the intake system. Hot coolant flows in the TB and manifold heating them up. And the heat transfer from heads to intake also contributes.

Isolate both and theres where you have your gains/resistance to heat soak. There is no negatives to not running coolant through those places though.

No, the VE Replacement EGR tube was discontinued. If you have to pass emissions, you will need to remove the UIM spacer and install the stock EGR tube everytime you need to pass emissions. I have a few people that are in the same boat that have bought VE spacers from me.

Also, the throttle body coolant bypass keeps the TB from heating up. It compliments the spacers nicely. If you leave the coolant flowing through the TB, then the TB and top part of the UIM will heat up hotter than without.

I have never heard of any negative effects of bypassing the coolant even in cold climates. But I'd say, if you are trying to drive your car in subzero temperatures, then leave the coolant flowing through your TB. But, not that many people will try to drive their FWD Maxima when the temps are below 0*F. Many people have driven their cars in single digit temps in the northern states in the US and none have reported any problems.

If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks.

No, none of my products throw a CEL. Even on the VE spacer kit, which has an EGR Block Plate, it doesn't throw a code. Some VEs have an EGR temp sensor and no CELs appear also. Just make sure you specify if you have a California model Maxima or if you have an EGR Temp Sensor that must be bypassed in order to block the EGR system.

Installed mine the other day. Easy install. I don't have any opinion yet though as I haven't driven the car.

Its still in pseudo storage from winter. I'll pull it out at the end of the month....

i thought in extreme cold the TB plate will have the tendency to stick...hence the warm coolant temps will expand the alum TB housing to prevent that.

if there wasn't a reason for the coolant to pass through the TB and bypassing would gain HPs why wouldn't nissan implement it?

so IMO there is a negative affect not running coolant though the TB but only in very cold conditions.

That's great. I appreciate everyone's support. I have several kits left in stock. The VE kits aren't nessecarily flying off the shelves. There are very few people on this forum that want to mod their 15 year old Maxima. But the people that do like to mod them have a VERY nice sleeper on their hands.

I've probably sold 5 or 6 kits so far.

You gotta keep in mind, most people that have a VE are still in school and poor. And the rest aren't really interested in making it faster for some reason.

Join the club! No matter how poor someone is, if they are willing to work on a project car themself, you can make it faster for cheap.

Any changes on that ? I am ready to purchase set but really don't want to take it all out every two years to pass emission or so.

No I am sorry. The tube was discontinued.

But, every two years isn't bad at all. In most areas effected by emissions, it's every single year.

I apologize for the delayed response, but I am out of town right now. I sent you a PM reply.

Im sure it would not be really difficult to customize your own down pipe if you need it to pass emissions.
