Flywheel lightweight

Hey my flywheel is going out. How do i know? Cuz everytime i start my car (especially when its cold) it grinds until it catches. Sounds most unplesent and is only unmatched by fingernails on a chalk board.

Where do i get a light weight flywheel for a good price?
I see www.srmotorsports.com has one for $300

Now that im replacing it i figure i might as well get a lightweight Aluminum flywheel.

This sucks cuz i should have just kept the one on there from the JDM engine but now that i remember i think it was damaged but ill go look today.

Sugestions or comments?

Its not the starter.

its Most likely not your flywheel.. its probably your starter.. Theres a oneway bearing that is going out in it... it starts to happen alot when it gets cold out.
happened to me.. and i thought i needed a flywheel for sure.. but it turned out to be the starter. thankfully

I have an automatic.

Ok well it could very well be my starter and I really hope it is. BUT why I say it isn't is because it was doing this a few months back when it started to get cold out so i replaced the starter with a reconditioned one from Autozone and its still doing the same thing. It was an easy install so i dont think i messed it up.

Autozone sold me a crap caliper so they might have screwed me again.

So how do i know for sure.

1.You have a flexplate,not a flywheel..Fidanza makes manual flywheels..

2.The starter should have a lifetime warranty,so take it back to idiotzone..

3.Stay away from idiotzone from now on..

4.If it turns out your flexplate teeth are worn/missing,i have a good used one for sale ...

Yeah flywheels don't really "go out". They typically would have to break teeth to cause trouble or you'd have to wear down just about every tooth to have a starting problem. And I imagine that would take many a year. My starter is acting up right now pretty badly too. I'm sick of winter's tricks.
