Broken exhaust studs

My exhaust studs tick like crazy. But all the bolts are on and when I tug the manifold and even each stud, none of them are loose or shaky. Any explanations, comments.

Warped manifold flange maybe?

Are you positive the noise is coming from the exhaust system?

Yes, absolutely, When I switch off the engine and open up the hood, I can track the ticking to both the front and rear manifolds.

Possibly rusted in? What are you using to tug on them? If you are just using your fingers, it doesn't surprise me. Spray some PB Blaster on them and try again. A lot of them break off when being removed.

Yes, Unless they are ALL loose, then just pulling on the manifold won't budge that cast iron beast.

The sound you are hearing is normal, when exhaust parts[especially the manifold] start to cool off after a drive, they always make the ticking sound you are hearing...

So rest easy dude..
