Oil Leak issues

Hello! a few weeks ago I was diagnosed by the mechanic some oil leaks, gaskets are going bad, due this I'm losing compression on cylinder #4, so he recommend install new gaskets, but you guys suggest me to get a new engine, and I wanna do that, but in the meanwhile that I save enough to do a mayor job like that, another mechanic told me to put some -Lucas stop leak- because my leaking is not that bad, do you think this will really help to seal the leak?

Another question, I just change my oil (4.25qt) and I don't wanna change it again is it bad if I just add 1qt of this sealer?? do I really have to take out 1qt of oil and then add the stop leak?? I don't really know if this is really worth it or I'll just be wasting my money. Thanks in advance!

Get a compression or leak down test, and ask which gasket exactly is leaking. If its the valve cover gasket or head gasket etc..
