the engine hangs down because the crossmember is broken.

I have a couple of them btw if you need one. I will look later to see if I still have them...pay shipping and its yours.

Wow, not bad actually but 1200 seems a bit steep to me. try going for like 700-1000. Its got some kick *** tires on it aka the same ones I got.

No front pics?

1200 is WAY too high.
the front crossmember is busted, the drivers seat is trashed, front seal is leaking. It's fairly clear to me that the PO didn't do much to keep the car up.
it's realistically a $2-500 car. 500 being generous IMO.

It's a pity people don't take better care of their cars. I'll never understand that. But yeah, 1200 is way too much for it. For that price I would expect to drive away in it- not have the engine fall out half way down the road.

so I offered the guy ( that S.O.B indian) car sales guy 400 and he said no get out of here and I asked him honestly how he expects to sell it for 1200 and he started to bullsh*t me sayin that the engine waz JDM rebuilt and i laughed. He called up his guy (maybe his boss) and he said no lower then 850 so I told him thanks and I walked. I plan on goin back with alex and john in 2 weeks and gettin the car for 600 or so. That guy will relize that he cant sell it to anyone. It has rear and front seals leakin, bad power steering rack, bad crossmember, bad front end and hood, broken ebrake, bad starter, air bag, check engine lights were blinking and the passenger rear window regulator was bad. So I really dont see this guys sellin this car to anyone...

I wouldnt give him 600 even. Honestly I wouldnt pay more that $400...and it would be a stretch for me to pay that.

haha, it looks like that engine was just pulled up from a swamp.

Why do you even want that car? It looks terrible to be honest, almost every surface in the interior looks like it was vandalized with razor blades.

Thing probably hasn't had an oil change in 189,000 miles.

I paid $500 for my parts car 3 years ago. It was driveable, but had a minor front end collision making the right fender, hood and bumper cover unusable. I ended up using almost everything else usable from it for the '94 GXE I'm currently using as a winter ride, so the cost worked out. If I had to do it again, I'd shoot for less.

do some research and see how long they have had that car, if they had it for a while, you can jack the price down very low..... with the air bag light on, it probably wont sell.... they will probably send it to an auction and get $400 for it and they know that....... first of all the front and rear main seals are leaking, and the power steering fluid is leaking.. i am 99% sure.... did you hear the car run????? most likely it had the original coils in it, and they are probably shot...... all you have to do is act like you know what your talking about.... trust me, i work at a dealership....the salesmen will lie to you, so just make sure you know what your talking about and make them feel stupid.....

is it in illinois or missouri?
Illinois, there's no law about what condition a car has to be in when its sold, doesn't matter who is selling it.

Looks like a bad idea to me.

If your looking for just a 5 swap from a ve. There are alot of blown VE's out there with good tranny's, those go for under 350.

I've bought one 94ve blown motor good tranny 300. Split the cost with a bud because he wanted the leather.

Most recent was a 93ve blown motor for 250.

They are out there, check craigslist.

If this has under 150,000 300 would sound right to me.

Dibs on the center console! Only not really...

Looks like some parts would be good but if you only need it for the 5 speed you can probably pull a junkyard one for much cheaper, or just find a blown engined VE for cheaper. Anything over $500 I'd say is rediculous.

So, did you bring that up with the guy when you were negotiating the price? Like mentioned before, just start listing off all the problems with it, most of all being the snapped crossmember. There's no way that they're going to sell that car for $1,200! By the way whoever owned that car before that was on the .org should be ashamed of themselves...

He did, and I don't think the dealer was willing to accept less then $850 even then. But lets see what a few more weeks will do.

Wow, that's ridiculous, you think that they'd want to get rid of it and take what they could get.

Why not just fix up the ve while you drive your vg? You would need to use those rusted ve axles and tranny mounts anyway. Jack up the front end (and engine), replace crossmember, control arms, ball joints, bushings, mounts, axles, fix the oil leak, put in good oil and filter and ground vtcs if needed. It'll probably drive well. Unless there's other problems not diagnosed by pics. I guess that is a good amount of work, but at least you could use that consult cable

take it for a test drive and do a couple burnouts.
then it has bald tires too, if you didn't render the car immobile in the process.
Call Missouri's department of motor vehicles and ask them if a DEALER can sell a car that has major structural damage (broken crossmember= major structural damage) then go back in and tell him to sell you the car before you report him.

An emissions inspection not more than 60 days old, if you reside in St. Louis City or the following counties: Franklin, Jefferson, St. Charles, or St. Louis; and
Lien Release (DOR-4809), notarized, if applicable.
