Call Missouri's department of motor vehicles and ask them if a DEALER can sell a car that has major structural damage (broken crossmember= major structural damage) then go back in and tell him to sell you the car before you report him.

He already had it up to 60 mph.

that's a bit scary. I think I might have just rolled it around the block or something, but not gone up to 60.

Hey Todd, wait til' we're in St. Louis..The three of us will drive up to the lot in both of our 3rd gens and and act like we know a lot about our car (which I say we can manage) and just start making Punjit feel dumb and try to get the car for a fair price. He wont know we have VGs and if asks see our motor we'll say ours is the better version plus we'll say my car was 550 bucks and bring my bill of sale

btw if there are any Hindus reading this I meant no harm and didnt mean to stereotypicalize. Sorry

+1 we can all nit pick that car to death and get it down. Not to mention it leaks every fluid it has (maybe not the windshield washer fluid..) and the broken parts.

I wonder if my AAA will tow it to your house?

I sold it with the odometer showing 237k. the guy who bought it from ME rolled it back to 127k (broke the odometer doing it). He sold it to someone else (Masa), for $800.

OK Missouri emailed me this..

Thank you for your email inquiry. When a car dealer sales a car he must provide the purchaser with a valid safety inspection. If he cannot produce one he cannot sell the unit as a drivable vehicle. We cannot make the dealer sell you the unit for any price under what he is asking. You may file a dealer complaint if you would like. You would fill out form 4683 from the following website. http://www.dor.mo.gov/mvdl/motorv/forms/

Nice, so tell him the car isnt driveable and offer him 500-550... if not tell him whats the lowest he'll go. If he says 800 or more make him fix the crossmember and a couple basic things so the car is actually closer in value to the price he's asking. If not then file form 4683 on the website and teach them a lesson for trying to rob peopleand be slick. but then again I guess you might wanna wait for us

Well he got the car. I'll let him tell how much he paid but it wasn't bad. It was much better then buying a tranny seperate tho.

I will say that car was a steal. We should have fixed it and kept or re sold it though. A new PS rack/hoses and f/r main seals and it would be a great DD. The struts were in great shape, the paint in great shape (minus the front bumper/hood) and the nice rims and spoiler. And the tranny, WOW it shifted perfect. It had some JY writing on it so it was replaced at some point. Im not sure what fluid is in there but man I wish my VG shifted that good...

It drove great minus the rocking from the crossmember and had good power. It ran great for the 1 mile I drove it.

Soon the doors/struts/rims will be on my 90 SE and the tranny swap will be on nforce's 93 gxe. I cant wait to post the pics. It was pretty funny to have 3 black max's lines up, all with aftermarket rims and no drop and 2 of them 5 speed. LOL
