Engine question

What other cars have the same engine as ours? Also, has anyone ever swapped an engine into a 3rd gen max that wasn't intended for our cars?

The vg/ve are pretty much exclusively maxima engines...

The mid nineties nissan quest has a vg30e in it,but in has a different head design[non-interference]...This means if the timing belt breaks,it wil not smash the valves..

The VE engine was only produced for the 92-94 se's...

One guy did have a VQ swapped in awhile back...I think he ended up just parting the car out.

Um the VG was in tonns of cars Greeny.

The 85-89 300ZX's (also had a turbo that might bolt onto our cars), some pathfinders, some hardbodys, and nissan made the VG a non interfereance engine for ford's minivan.

All were VG30E's and would bolt into any application they were used in.

The VE was a maxima only engine. But its bascally a VG30DE with some reworking to make it fit.

The only thing Ive seen swapped in a was a VQ30DE. Which means its possible to do a VQ35....

It's a good feeling to know that the VE was designed specifically for the 3rd gen

Gives it that unique factor over the VQ.. Aside from many others heh..

The VG 3.3 can also be swapped into the maxima with some work.

Actually they used the VG for over 20 years, once you count the VG33E and VG33ER, which were used up until 2004.
