Well that's debatable with an Atom. I definatly agree a radio can get you in just about any situation but, picture yourself in that car, at night and there's only one cop after you initially, I think if you were in a suburb area with alot of curvacious roads and what not, you could loose him as long as he didn't have immediate back up. Make sure to leave the license plates at home though

I wanna install plate shields on my car, that way if I ever am about to break a law, I can hit a button inside of my car and solid panels will drop down over the license plates.

Entertaining chase but that guy is lucky he didn't kill anyone by driving like he's racing a closed course.

Here's a wmv Enter code and wait 45 seconds.

So uh anybody got the license plate mod posted yet? Not that I would ever want to hit a button to hide my plate cuz I was running from the police for illegal street racing, but just in theory IF you did want to hide them.

Just FYI, my car still isnt running.

Actually - on the thirdgen.org board (for f-body cars-firebirds and camaros) they have a writeup somewhere. one guy actually did it....

it's much easier to do on an F-body.
hell, you can just flip the plate down and it stays down.

More of a joking suggestion there, would it be illegal to have that installed on your car? I mean if you didnt use it would it be illegal just cuz its there?

probably... but i doubt if it weren't used for illegal purposes that anyone would say anything about it (ie driving with the plate covered, etc.)

i'm sure you could park it at a car show and things and it would be a cool mod, but otherwise useless in the legal sense

a lot of things are not necessarily legal to have done to a car are done to cars all the time.
Tinted lights, colored lights to name 2 obvious ones.
people do it, and accept the risk of getting a ticket because of it.
is it smart? no.
does it look "cool" to some people? obviously.

Don't underestimate the ability of a person with the right car, unprecedented stupidity, and a pinch of luck.

or basically a crotch rocket

But really as much fun as that was to watch, I'm extremely surprised he didn't have a head on collision with oncoming traffic. That was really stupid of him. He could go to a road course every weekend for a year and it would still be cheaper than being charged with only wreckless driving. (I don't even want to think about the charges he has + the accident).

In CA, (At least SoCAL), you can tint your lights, except for reverse lights. My friend got a fix-it tix for that.

cop was to lazy to write the ticket for the rest of them.
FMVSS is what prohibits tinting the lights because it reduces the light output to below legal limits.

Autoloc has a motorized hidden license plate kit, been advertised in just about every car mod mag for at least a year lol. www.autoloc.com

Wow. Nice to see a 3Gen get some "publicity".

At least it looked like it's tranny was still good going up that mountain. At least it looked like it was going up.

And yes... I would have like to see that thing go over the mountain too, just to see how well the cabin would hold up.

The guy had great driving... too bad it was demonstrated while on the run.

AND!!!.... dibs on the heater core, window regulators, spare tire cover mat, and rear-seat backing.

so sad that people make it worse on themselves. ... he thought he was hot using the whole road as a race corse but he is freaking insane takin them blind like that just insane... Ive taken turns like that myself with using the whole road but i could actually see if there is oncoming traffic and i had a want to live. I dont understand why people run like this and make it worse for everyone? Oh well.
