It does it about every time I drive it. It'll be running fine then all of a sudden the engine will cut out kinda like I've let off the gas but I haven't, then it will stop doing it and the cars runs fine untill it does it again. It usually only lasts a few seconds. And when it does it everything else in the car stays on (radio, lights, ect) What do you guys think is wrong? I was thinking the fuel pump or something to do with the fuel line. tell me what you think. thanx

Well, first I'd ask if you lost COMPLETE power when this happened (i.e., radio, lights, etc...). If not, then I'd look at the fuel delivery system. Heaven forbid if it's the injectors. You're on the track, too, by thinking that maybe it'll be the filter, pump, or fuel lines. But has this always happened, or has it just started to develop over time.

Have you checked for any fault codes?

You can also get the ECU to run a diagnostic. There may be some faults that don't show up as "Service Engine" - I don know for sure if this is true or not. Do a search to find out how to run a diagnostic just to confirm there are no fault codes.

Blaxima,
I experienced similar issues with my 92 SE. It would be driving fine and then start bucking and the engine would cut out, but all the electronics still worked. My problem also started to get worse as time went on. Nissan couldn't fined anything wrong but suggested that I check the ENGINE CONT relay under the hood (mounted in the relay box on the drivers side fender). Sure enough, after replacing the relay my car was back to normal. If any of these problems sound familiar pick up a relay they are only about $20.00. The Engine Cont relay supplies power to your ECU ,so if its bad, it is clipping the power to your ECU causing these symptoms to occur.
