you need several measurements
the size of the knurl
the thread size and pitch
and then the OVERALL length
Rear disc stub:
Type: Serrated Stud
Thread: M12-1.25
Knurl Dia.: 12.83mm
Length: 41.5mm
Shoulder Length: 14mm
Front:
Type: Serrated Stud
Thread: M12-1.25
Knurl Dia.: 14.35mm
Length: 42mm
Shoulder Length: 13.5mm
don't know if that info will help you any, but it was worth a shot

so if you're adding up to 3/8" (10mm) spacers, you'll need the NISMO 50mm studs.
If you're adding 1/2" to 3/4", you'll need 60mm studs.
any longer than that, and you need to buy spacers with new studs built into them. search for crow automotive. they'll make 'em and they're cheap.
and no, I haven't found anything out there other than the Nismo studs that will fit our hubs and let us keep out 12 x 1.25 thread pattern.
you can go to summit or Jegs and buy other studs for a Miata that will press in, but you will wind up with a 12mm x 1.5 thread pitch.

I don't know why they wouldn't, BUT... I'd have a hard time trusting the wheels studs themselves without knowing who made them.
Bejay, any idea of H&R reps I can contact to price a set of theirs?
just spent $120 on studs for the Maxima, and now I need some for the 240. stupid SCCA specs require the lugs to have open ends and the studs to stick out at least like 1/2" or something.. thus I'm going to need longer studs for the 240, even without spacers! grrrr

Don't remember who I spoke with but I just called their main number. The part numbers look something like 122545xx 122535xx with the 1225 being the bolt pitch, the next being the 35 or 45mm length, and then two additional numbers probably for our 14mm knurl. I've just been ordering through Tirerack and drop shipping from H&R WA.

My 3rd gen has a 13mm knurl. NISMO studs work just fine. (at least I'm hoping so anyway.. I've got $120 worth of them in my back seat!)
not sure exactly what's on the 240 though... I'm running converted 5 lug front hubs and Z32 rear hubs. need to make sure I order the right size.

here's what I found so far.
My front hubs are 93 Se's and take a 14mm knurl. The rears are 90 Se's and they take 13mm.
I got ichuba's in the front that are 50mm. Pretty good waulity I quess. But I'm getting some 60mm nismo for the rear.. Just because I can't findy any other that makes them 60mm.

I am assuming studs are reuseable, but I'll ask anyway...I want to add longer studs to the rear of my car (which has drum brakes at the moment) to compensate for the spacers. If I install them on the drum-type strut assembly now, will I have any issues pulling them and re-installing them on the disc-type assembly when I do the rear disc conversion sometime down the road?
Also, is the knurl going to be 13mm in the rear for every 3rd gen?

Just noticed something on the ichibausa site...The 50mm studs I need are for the rear and the ones pictured look like the front ones Brian posted above...Will these not work on the rear?

I'm not 100% if rear drums are the same as mine. But for me I know that 13mm knurl is what I need, very likely you have the same hub.

i need to longer studs for the front since i am using wheel spacers to clear my Z32 BBK. i will find out what size spacers i have up front and go from there. so, will NISMO studs be it or should it be the other brand? what do you guys suggest?

i got ichubas 14mm knurl for the front. Only drove on them 20 miles. but they seem sturdy.

Finally got the "right" NISMO studs for the Max today...
Had my dealer look them up in the catalog, and they show to use the 13mm ones.. so I ordered those and waited for them to come in.. Finally get here and I plan to take the car to the shop so I can have my fenders rolled.. get all that done and start popping out the stock wheel studs. sho 'nuff... I needed the 14mm knurl. grrrrrrr
so I checked a front and a rear stud just to make sure they were all the same. yup, they were...
so I take the 13mm studs back to the dealer and yell and scream at them until they take them back and order the 14mm studs.
Those come in this afternoon, so I take off work early and pick them up. Get out to the garage and start working on stuff... front right... easy as pie.. rear right.. cake... install the 10mm spacers and wheels with 255/45/17 on 'em and go for a drive. no rubbing yet. cool.
park the car back in the drive and start on the left side.
Front left wheel... cake..
left rear wheel.. pop all the studs out, then stick the new ones in.. hmmm, they won't seat and they don't come out all the way. wtf?
I pull the hub off and take a closer look at it and the studs. DAMMIT!! one hub has 13mm studs in it! the other three all had 14mm studs!
I wasn't about to go back to the dealer and order 5 of the 13mm studs, nor was I going to pay $150 for a new rear wheel bearing/hub assy only to take a hammer to it.
I dug around in my workbench and finally found another old hub. 13mm studs in it as well. hmmmmmmmmmmm
oh well. I have a 14mm drill bit and the studs are actually 14.3mm with the knurl on it. I knocked the studs out of a spare hub and drilled out one of the holes to 14mm. Stick it in my hydraulic press with an old 14mm stud and the thing squeezes right in. PERFECT! I pound it out, then grab my NISMO studs and press them all in. reassemble the "new" hub on the car and all was good.
After I got done, I stopped and thought about things.. a couple years ago, I bought new front hubs and one rear hub attempting to diagnose some noises. I'm guessing the one with 13mm studs is an original. Then again, this car is truely a Frankenstein. it's got suspension and brake parts from a Z31, 89SE, 93SE, and 93GXE on it-- not including all of the custom fabbed parts!
Cliffs Notes: Somewhere along the line, Nissan has switched from 13 to 14mm knurl on the wheel studs for the back hubs. I have no idea when the switch was, but you need to physically check what you have before purchasing new wheel studs.
