AC system not working.

So I swapped in a r134 compressor, condensor and drier.

Put in a good ammount or freon but the dang compresor Will not kick on. Relay and fuse is good. Whatever supplies the low voltage to the relay isn't doing it.
Where do I look now?

And I know I have enough freon to not trip the low pressure vlave.

I even swapped out the climate controls to test. No change.

did you check the voltage across the 'coil' of the relay? also i wouldn't think that your new compressor's clutch is a dud right off the bat, but maybe it is.

how much freon did you add? you can't really guess at it.

did you pull enough vacume and see if the system is fully sealed and dry before adding freon?

if there's not enough freon the compressor will not kick on....i'm sure if there's too much you don't want it to click on since it'll grenade the compressor.

have you checked the pressure switches?

I drew a 30psi vaccuum for 20 minutes and it held over 30 minutes, at which point I decided it held good and was ready for freon.

I even jumped out the compressor and the clutch and everything works. Thats how I was able to charge it. And I brought it up to 34 psi.

How do I go about checking the pressure switches? ohm them out?

check for continuity on them
IIRC they are both N.C. and open when the pressure goes up for one and down for the other.
you could also bypass them one ata time to see if it trips the system on that way

did you check both sides of the switch?
(HA-68 in the FSM)
as you pointed out it's a dual pressure switch, so it serves the function of 2 switches.
also check out the relay for possible malfunction

it's not clear to me either.
maybe I'll pull out my hardcopy and read it through.
I have an easier time reading hardcopies than computer files
