Shifter Removal

I'm trying to get the shifter out to cook it and move the poly bushing. But the thing is i have no idea how to get the assembly out of the car. Any help would be great! Thanks

Get under the car, remove the heat sheild over the cat, disconnect the shift rods, unbolt the 4 bolts holding the shifter assembly in and there ya go!

and if so... wont my shifter linkage attach to it at an angle and cause problems?

Mine is set up with the bottom of the ball flush with the bend. Don't move it past that point...In fact, you might want to move it a bit less than I did.

wow all the way to the bend...thats a lot.

Just move it about an inch or so. I moved mine to where the ball is just at the top notch (you will see the notches when you move it. There are three I belive and mine is at the very edge of the third notch and it feels great.

It's a bit notchy, but I have lived with it for awhile and don't feel like pulling it anytime soon...maybe I'd have a reason to if people would jump on the urethane shifter bushing band wagon...
