Haha, you guys get to haul *** around in those small towns. No wonder most of your mods are high end
Living in a crowded little city kind of sucks, it's a good 30+ minute drive to get anywhere like that here... and there's still cops *sigh*

Nice vid man. You could always convert to xvid or divx for good compression, but for people to view it, they need the codec installed. I usually compress my vids to wmv so it will be viewable by anyone with windows. You can download windows media encoder for free from microsoft's website and make a decent wmv. Or if you don't want to bother, just upload it to me and I can convert it. You got aim or something? I can open an ftp server too but you need an ftp client (program) to sign in and upload the file... Send me a pm, the video isn't too bad though imo, at least it's full frames.

about the video: yeah, that Impala got a good dose of before you fed it some dust. Rednecksville looks like a fun place. Were you actually going somewhere, or just driving to make a video?

I was thinking about doing the same kind of video the other day.
I lost my tripod mount (the piece that mounts my camera to the pod -- stupid Slik). Anyway, I will try to do one soon. I have some nice roads just above my house.
Then, I will have Hectic make them look badazz.

It's a broom stick/metal sleeve/ mini tripod taped to it...I did end up having to zippy tie the stick to each headrest pole,it kept falling forword with out them..

Yeah,A530...The uncompressed vid is unbelieveable quality for a point-n-shoot camera...Hopfully hectic can work some of his video magic with the full version later on tonight..

skip the tape, just get two of these:
I did the same thing...
I drilled holes in PVC pipe (measured for distance between headrests) then I mounted a tripod head. The hole was a little too big and I had to tape it to keep it still.

Hmmm..I like your idea of putting the headrests through the pipe,i might have to redesign my ghetto masterpiece..

I am also going to use U bolts to hold down the tripod mount tight. That tape was still a little loose.
I saw somewhere on the net where a guy used more u-bolts to connect the pipe to the headrest, too. That might be faster than measuring and drilling.

It's done, looks about the same as the raw file and 1/5 the filesize. Resolution is a little lower but only by a few pixels (544x400). It's in Xvid format so to view it you have to install the codec which doesn't come with Windows, although it's pretty much the standard when it comes to video releases on the net because of the high compression:quality ratio.. I tried WMV but it looked like crap and was about the same filesize. I also tried a lower bitrate with Xvid which looked pretty good @ 58MB but noticably worse than this 95MB file so I went with the larger one.
Xvid codec: http://www.koepi.org/XviD-1.1.2-01112006.exe

Nice mounts! A year or so ago I tied my tripod to the side of the driver's seat and drove around for awhile but when I watched the video, I realized it mostly just caught the back of my head
