Shaking Car
#1
You guys gotta help me on this. My car starts shaking everytime I drive past 65mph. I recently got new tires, my alignments done, and the tire balanced but it seems that it didn't do the trick. My cars a 1990 and I have more than 110,000 miles on the gauge. I got a new engine not even a year ago and since then my cars been falling apart. I don't know if this info will help but I have the car lowered about a inch an a half and the shocks are completely dead. Everytime I go over a speedbump the top and the bottom of the shocks hit and make that "gonk" sound. Help! What do I gotta do. Is it the shocks the engine mount my girlfriends curse? Help!?

I had this problem before. If your car only shakes when you go on the halfway then i think your toe-in is off. Check your service manual for the amount of toe-in that's allowed. I forgot the range. But if the toe-in is too off, your car will shake on high speed and it will defintely wear down your tire quicker. About the suspension problem, it might be that one of your front struts is busted. HAve it replaced for maybe around 80-100 bucks. I bought a KYB strut for 85 and installed it myself. Good luck and let me know about it.

OK...I got the service manual, I got that far. What's a toe in and how can I adjust it? Is that the only possible reason? Can it be the engine mount? Thanks for the input.
