Cleaned up the Engine a Bit Today
I was under the hood of teh ole' VG today and did a few things...
1) Replaced several hardened vacuum lines
2) Cleaned IACV (with TB cleaner, I think)
3) Cleaned MAF (with MAF cleaner)
4) Cleaned MAF plug, TPS plug and a few other misc. plugs with electrical aerosol cleaner
5) Inspected cap and rotor / took some fine grit sand paper to the contact points
6) Diagnosed injector #4 as the culprit of my car not running perfect about half of the time...parts on the way
7) Sprayed engine bay down with engine cleaner and hosed it off
8) Discovered it is going to be a real PITA to replace my whiny P/S pump when I get around to it
Tomorrow is wash day...Clean and Scotchguard interior, wash, claybar, apply cleaner wax, and apply wax (all top-shelf Meguires) to my car.
Next weekend I plan on taking the car to my buddy's shop about 75 miles from here to get the paint work done...Then she'll look cherry!

I know...
Funny thing is, the car seems faster when the injector wants to work...I don't think it's in my head...Just by replacing 4 or 5 lines and cleaning a bit of dirt and corossion.

DAQ wouldn't the water harm the wire harness?
You could always pull out a leaf blower to quicken the drying, or a can of compressed air to get water out of small areas.
Whenever I do maintenance or repair, I tend to take some extra time to clean around that area while its all apart. For most parts, acetone does amazing work, and its cheap. I just soak a bit of a paper towel with it and rub lightly, all gunk and oil buildup comes off almost instantly. Just be careful with plastics and painted areas.

I use a leaf blower to dry my engine bay..I especially concentrate on the sensor/other electrical connectors, works great..

I also get a laugh out of it when the neighbours look at me like
