F31 ftw. Flagged one down a few days ago and asked the driver if she wanted to trade me for my VE. Both our motors were making noise, but wouldn't matter anyway, VG30 would be history. That is if I had a shop to work on the car at. They complete screwed the m30 with the j30 imo. J30 looks like a jellybean, my uncle bought one new back in the day and I remember always thinking that about it Only crappy thing about the M30 is the interior looks like it was designed with an NES.

I really like it. I think its much better then the vigor or w/e you guys posted. The maxima's more rounded lines just flow better.

Longer doors or more length between the doors and rear tires might help but other then that imo looks good.

Only recently. The R32, 33 & 34 Skyline also came as a Sedan.

Kind of ironic, I just picked one of these up... sadly to replace the Maxima.

Looks great though and of course is VG powered. Since the Maxima is toast I'm going to use all of the turbo components on this car along with a Z32 5-speed swap.

Thanks. I've actually always wanted one because they reminded me of the Maxima so much but in a right wheel drive, two door version.

Heck, when I was pulling it home I looked back just glancing at the headlights I thought I was hauling a Maxima for sec... freaked me out.

From the general Maxima discussion section (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=524805):

Along with the comment:

"Either way, it's a turd gen so it couldn't have made it any uglier than it originally was."

Nissan Leopard turbo coupe

I came across these when I worked in Japan years ago.
Nissan's answer to the Soarer back in 89-92?

Called a Nissan Leopard.

Only ever seen one here in Australia. (grey import) not sold locally

Here is a pic from Yahoo japan auction site (sorry for no translation though)

Yeah, I need to make a thread about it or something. I was putting it up on jack stands to work on the major rust and when I lowered the car onto a jack stand on the driver's rear corner, the metal started collapsing basically.

Nothing bad happened, just that I found that the rust was even worse than I thought. Started peeling back some metal around the bottom of the rear door and found a bunch of dirt and rocks and junk in there. Started pulling some of it out to find it was all of the way up near the front of the car... after that I kind of got sick to my stomach as I knew there was no way I'd be able to fix all that myself, or at least do a good enough job that would look good and that I'd feel comfortable with as I've never done body work before.

I'm keeping an eye out for another one as I just can't seem to get away from the Maxima, just love those things too much. It'll probably be a while before I get another one though. I have too many projects at the moment, none that are working yet.

I came across these when I worked in Japan years ago.

I actually have a VG30DET out of a Leopard in my garage oddly enough... though I have no plans of putting it in the M as I prefer the VG30E(T) to the DE(T)(TT).

What is to become of your Max's turbo setup? And are you still driving it?

Don't mean to rub it in, but rust-free 3rd gens FTW!

Nah, I didn't feel it was safe to drive. Rear strut towers were rusted very badly and the driver's side tensioner wasn't even on the car anymore. I'm sure it would likely have driven alright and such but dust and junk would be getting in and I'm sure it wouldn't have lasted long so I pretty much stripped the car out. Engine and all of the turbo stuff is out, electronics, even pulled the window regulators so I can sell those.

The turbo stuff I'm actually going to put on the M30 now. No longer have to worry about breaking transmissions.

Fireworks is the best...

I always thought that the last model Prelude looked alot like a 2 door maxima. The car would always retain its long look. But a RWD conversion would have to be made. Sure would be nice if I could get my hands on some CAD for a driveshaft tunnel and 300ZX rear diff + suspension (from 300ZX or better?).

Custom maxima parts? yea baby! Getting my hands on a new HAAS SL-40 turning center (www.haascnc.com) and will be looking into CNC machining whatever I need that the machine is capable of.. I can definately turn rotors on it haha!

Anyone need any specialized brackets out of steel? We usually use 12 ga P&O so if you can draft me your needs, dimensions and bend angles, hole diameters and locations, I can whup them up for you and ship.

Aye I saved a nice pic of a skyline sedan at work, and it looked very much like the 3rd gen maxima. If anyone wants me to post it, let me know, ill have to do it tomorrow.

that looks really good, someone should cut their car in half like that and convert it to RWD, but that would be a lot of money. but then they would have the first drifting maxima. at least that i know of.
